N.S.W. FAST BOWLERS PLAY HAVOC
(10 a.m.) PERTH, Dec. 14. West Australia faces an outright defeat in the Sheffield shield match against New South Wales. Yesterday New South Wales fast bowlers upset the home batsmen and only a merry last-wicket stand between the bowlers O’Dwycr and Puckett, worth 07 runs saved the side from a rout.
West Australia in their first innings made 241 (O’Dwyer 51). Bowling Lindwall took four for 09 and Walker two for 42. West Australia followed on and in the second innings scored 90 for two. Carmody was 20 not out at stumps.
