Soviet Threat To Force Down Western Planes

LONDON, Dec. 12,
The Soviet Chief of Staff in Germany. Lieut.-General Lukyanchanko, in a letter to the American Chief of Staff, Brigadier-General Gatley, stated that the Russians would force down any Allied aircraft improperly marked or engaging in “disorderly” flights over the Soviet zone. He indicated dissatisfaction with the way the United States authorities had received and acted upon a similar Russian warning on November 9.
