HEAVIER PRISON SENTENCES URGED
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 13. With the object of making prison sentences more of a deterrent to crime by insisting on the full terms being completed a request that the question of life sentences and Ihc punishment of persons convicted of assault on women be taken up will be made by the Auckland district Returned Services’ Association to the Dominion headquarters of Ihc association. This was decided unanimously by an Auckland district conference held at Papakura on Saturday.
