WELLINGTON RETAINS NUNNELEY CASKET
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 13. Wellington retained the Nunneley Casket by beating Otago by eight rubbers to four. Play was of high standard.
The only really surprising result was the defeat of the New Zealand championship runner-up. Miss M. Kerr, by Mrs. J. McVay. tanked sixth in the Dominion. Saturday's results. Wellington names first: — Miss ,T. Webster lost to Miss M. Pyle 2-6, 1-6: Mrs. K. Anderson beat Miss C. Neave 6-1. 6-1: Mrs. J. McVay beat Miss M. Kerr 9-7, 6-2; Miss N. Fleming beat Miss M. Robertson 3-6, 6-2. 6-2: Mrs. Anderson and Miss Webster lost to Misses Pyle and Neave 5-7. 3-6.
