(11,20 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Dec. 10. United States Marines would be moved into Shanghai in an emergency to protect American lives, said the commander of the American fleet in the Western Pacific, Admiral Oscar C. Badger. He added that within the limits of reasonable feasibility they would also protect America’s primary interests. He did not elaborate on the*primary interests but it is presumed he meant American property. He said that in event of disorders in the city, American nationals would be taken aboard Navy vessels in the harbour.
