FREAK MALLARD DUCK HATCHED AT WAIROA
(S.R.) WAIROA, Dec. 7.
With four legs, four wings, two tails and only part of a head, a mallard duck was hatched at the Wairoa Game farm, but was dead when free of the egg. Tlie body was of normal size with a light coating of dark-coloured down. The head lacked the top of the skull, but in common with other physical extremities of the bird it was of average size.
