RECORD U.S. INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION
(10 a.m.) NEW YORK. Nov. 30. The Federal Reserve Board reported tonight that the United States industrial production reached a peacetime record in October.
The board’s production index increased three points to 95 per cent above the 1935-39 average. The previous peak had been 94 per cent in February.
A 4 per cent rise in steel mill activity to nearly 100 per cent of capacity helped to produce the new record motorcar production and also set a new postwar peak in the production of copper.
