FLYING-BOAT BASE AT BLUFF PROPOSAL
(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Oct. 2. After inspecting Bluff harbour and the suggested site for a flying-boat base yesterday afternoon Sir Frederick Tymms. leader of the British mission inquiring into civil aviation, said Bluff had “distinct possibilities” and he was very impressed with what he had seen.
Sir Frederick, accompanied by Messrs. G. J. Warcup and T. A. Barrow. were given a bird’s eye view of the harbour and they examined the plans of the proposed base prepared by the Harbour Board’s engineer, Mr. D. Mason.
