SALARY OF INDIA’S GOVERNOR-GENERAL
(10 a.m.) NEW DELHI. Aug. 30. The Prime Minister, Mr. Nehru, told Parliament during a debate on the Governor-General’s salary that Viscount Mountbatten had written in July proposing that he and Ladv Mouiubalten should live more simply and move to a smaller residence. Mr. Nehru, stating that the total emoluments of the Governor-General were £B2OO a month, added that it was also desirable that the dignity of trie State should not suffer.
