STALEMATE REACHED IN NEGOTIATIONS
(11.30 a.m.) THE HAGUE, Aug. 30. It is reported that the Dutch and Indonesian Republican negotiations for a settlement of the Indonesian problem reached a stalemate after both parties defaulted on talks scheduled for August 18. Observers state that the Republicans have adopted a “wait-and-see” policy and are prepared to go to the United Nations’ Security Council in an attempt to slow down Dutch political moves among Indonesian non-Republicans.
