ROTORUA HAS NEW TELEPHONE EXCHANGE
(P.A.) ROTORUA, Aug. 30. A new telephone exchange which is housed in a separate building adjoining the Post Office came into operation on Saturday afternoon. It increases the number of subscriber lines by 300 to 1200 and a further 300 will be added as equipment becomes available. In addition automatic equipment is being tested to ascertain how this system is affected by Rotorua conditions.
