(11.10 a.m.) GENEVA, Aug. 29. The session of the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council after six weeks’ continual meetings ended last night. The council among its main decisions decided: 1. To approve the International Trade Organisation’s Havana Charter despite the Russian delegation’s assertion that the charter “delivered the economic sheep to the economic wolves.” 2. Establish a bureau of “Flood Control” as an international system of defence against floods in Asia and the Far East. 3. Recommended that the International Bank facilitate loans for undeveloped areas. 4. Recommend an international protocol to control the traffic in new drugs.
