THE COMPETITIONS

Sir, —I wonder if you could tell me if a conductor in a children’s choir is permitted to sins with the children in a competition? If this is so well no more can be said. I was a visitor to the Opera House last Tuesday evenin'? and heard two very good children’s choirs sing for a cup. The conductor of the visiting choir, a grown woman, sang with the children and beat the local choir, whose conductor did not sing with them. Now, sir. do you think this is a fair way to win a cup? To my way of thinking no adult voice shou’d be allowed with the children. Maybe someone in this line could enlighten me. The woman’s voice was plainly heard by many others. I am not interested in either choir, other than to see that justice is done. FAIR PLAYFA conductor is not allowed to sing with the choir. If the conductor of the visiting choir did sing with the choir, it was apparently not noticed by the adjudicator as the conductor had her back to the audience. No action can be taken by the Comnetitions Society unless an official protest is received within 24 hours of the event.—Editor,
