CELTIC BEAT MARIST
The Marist junior side turned out short of players for their match with Celtic, and suffered early reverses which they were unable to make up, despite a good late rally. The Celtic forwards were getting most of the ball through the first half, and their backs galloped through for two tries, one converted: while in the second half they added another. Marist scored two unconverted tries in the second half, the game ending 11 —6 in favour of Celtic. Scorers for the winners were P. Thompson, a try and a conversion, K. Nikora and J. Connor, tries: and for Marist B. Storey and M. Lynch scored fries. Mr. J. Ilndwen was the referee.
ITALIAN WAR MEDALS. Mikhail Kostylev, the Soviet Ambassador to Rome, handed a Soviet protest to the Italian Foreign Ministry against the decorations given to Italian soldiers who look part in the Russian campaign. The Note requested the ‘immediate annulment of all decrees by which these medals were awarded.”
