INSURRECTION IN BURMA HILL TRACTS
RANGOON. Aug. 26.
Sima Duwa Sinwa Nawng, president of the Burma frontier areas, confirmed that insurrection had broken out in the Karcnni hill tracts, 10 miles north-cast of Tuongoo. The Associated Press correspondent quotes reports saying the rebels yesterday attacked the Mawchi mines in the Knrenni hill tracts. Burmese newspapers report that martial law has -been declared in Karenni.
