EXCLUSION FROM LAND SALES ACT
(P.R.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 4. The exclusion from the provisions of the Land Sales Act of building sections not exceeding £250 in sale value is sought by a petition to the House of Representatives yesterday by 25 Wellington residents.
The petitioners had building sections knocked down to them in an auction but because the values fixed by the Land Sales Committee were not acceptable to the vendor, he exercised his option not to complete the sale. The petitioners believed that if the Act w r ere amended as sought, the sale of the sections would be completed and the amendment would also be beneficial to many other persons in similar circumstances.
