NEW PIANO FOR RADIO BROADCASTS
(P.A.) .WELLINGTON, July 23. Radio station 2YA's new Weimar concert grand piano is at present being played in before being handed over by the importers to the New Zealand Broadcasting Service. Like a new car, it must be given a run-in period, and it will be some weeks before the instrument can be used tor studio or concert work. When it was unloaded from the Port Alma recently, the piano was take n to the concert department of the broadcasting service in Waring Taylor street. Because of its size, the importers were unable to get it into their lift to take it to their showroom. The instrument will remain in Wellington for broadcasting purposes. As 12 men are needed to handle it, and as moving from one place to another upsets pianos, it will not be shitted about unnecessarily.
