(N.Z.P. A.—Reuter —Copyright.)
SYDNEY, July 23
The Minister of External Affairs, Dr. H. V. Evatt, revealed, before leaving by air for England late last night, that he would discus the Malayan situation with tlio authorities in Singapore and with British officials tr. London. "If the position in Malaya is serious and the British so regard it, it seems to me quite certain that the provision requested in the way of munitions will be made," he said. Asked how the Australian Government would send arms if it decided to do so, Dr. Evatt replied: "The important word is ‘will’. When Mr Chifley says will, he means will, and when he says will not, iie means will not. He won’t be deterred or affected by any threat from anybody.”
