T)ART of the land required by the *■ Cook County Council for the proposed Makaraka stock detour is owned by a person whose present address is not known, and the council at yesterday’s meeting decided to institute steps to acquire the land under the Public Work', Act. The freehold of the land is in the name of Mr. J. H. Glynn, Opotiki, and inquiries made in Opotiki got no further than to determine that a family of Glynns lived there 50 or 00 years ago, but that their land had long ago changed hands.
