ARABS ACCUSED OF TRUCE BREACHES
(-0 a.m.) LONDON. July 22. A summary of 60 violations of the truce by the Arab Legion, Egyptian and Syrian forces has been transmitted to the United Nations by the provisional Government of Israel. Twenty-four violations, including bombing, shelling, occupation of new positions and new fortifications concern the whole of the Palestine territory. Thirty-six violations were made in Jerusalem and consist mainly of shelling and sniping, causing numerous casualties. Jewish and Arab representatives on July 17 signed an agreement and a map defining the boundaries of their areas in Jerusalem. The agreement provides for control of no-man’s-land and other truce details. A separate agreement is being worked out between Egyptians and Jews for southern boundaries of Jerusalem. Thirteen American Marines have left Rhodes for Palestine as guards for the United States Consulate-General in Jerusalem.
