Wellington Leads in Interprovincial Womens Golf Tourney

(P.A.) WANGANUI, July 23. Interprovincial women’s golf teams from Manawatu, Wanganui, Wellington and Taranaki concluded their three-day fixture yesterday when Wel : lington beat Manawatu and Wanganui drew with Taranaki. Steady rain marred the four-ball matches in the morning. Conditions were better for the start of tne singles but intermittent heavy showers marred the latter part of the games. Wellington won two four-ball matches, the third being halved and won all six singlesTaranaki won the two singles and two four-ball matches and Wanganui one four-ball and three singles, one singles being halved. Wellington now has six points. Wanganui and Taranaki three points and Manawatu nil. The matches will be continued later when Hawke’s Bay and Poverty Bay will also take part.
