SINGLE-ENGINED PLANE: CLUB’S OFFER DECLINED
The Gisborne aerodrome is not yet considered to be suite’ 1c for the operation of a feeder air service with Dominie aircraft, and the oiler of the Gisborne Aero Club's four-seater Proctor is not acceptable because the plane is dependent on one engine only. Information to this effect was conveyed to the president of tiie Gisborne Chamber of Commerce. Mr. T. A. N. Corson, in a telegram received from tiie Prime Minister yesterday in answer to representations made on Tuesday for early implementation of the promise of a feeder service to Napier.
"The Minister of Civil Aviation advises me that he lias been informed by the Deputy-Director oi Civil Aviation that the aerodrome is not yet suitable for operation with Dominie aircraft, and does not recommend that a regular service be operated between Gisborne and Napier with the Gisborne Aero Club's Proctor, as this is a singleengined airerft,” the Prime Minister states.
“The National Airways Corporation assures the Minister of Civil Aviation that a service will be recomcmnded with Dominie aircraft as soon as fhe civil aviation authorities approve of the use of the aerodrome.”
