FERTILISER PRICE FALL ANTICIPATED
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 21. Although supplies to farmers are still subject to strict rationing fertilisers are reported to be piling up at works in the South Island for want of orders and the position is causing concern to merchants and manufacturers as well as producers. Inquiries made of manufacturing and distributing interests show that an unusual position has arisen. Many farmers, it was stated, are definitely withholding their orders in anticipation of a reduction of price by way of restoration of the subsidy to manufacturers.
