Jet Engines for 500 m.p.h. Airliner
(10 a.m.) LONDON, July 21.
The De Ilavilland Company announced that the Ministry of Civil Aviation has approved of the use of the Ghost jet engine for civil operation. The De Ilavilland Company is developing four Ghosts for 500 miles an hour passenger services on the North Atlantic and other trunk routes. The Ghost is the first jet engine approved for passenger aircraft.
