TOKOMARU JUNIORS DEFEAT TOLAGA BAY
(Herald Correspondent.)
Favoured with excellent conditions play was fast and very even in Saturday’ junior rep. Rugby game in which Tokomaru Bay defeated Tolaga Bav, 9-5, on the Tokomaru ground.
Tokomaru Bay in the first spell hooked the ball and their speedy backs made good use of it. Tolaga. however, woke up in the latter part of the second spell and more than held their own.
For Tokomaru L. Hadfield scored two tries and M. Mntehe one. Tolaga's points came from a try by Gibson converted by L. Tamepo. L. Hadfield, B. ChalTcy and D, Hadfield were the pick of the Toko, backs with P. Renner. W. Tikiora and D. Hassell working well in the forwards. For the losers L. Tamepo and Yuan’ were prominent in the backs with Gipson conspicuous in the forwards. Mr. p. Milner was the referee.
