SOUTH CANTERBURY RUGBY SHIELD TEAM
(P.A.) TIMARU, July 22. The South Canterbury team which will meet Otago in the first Ranfurlv Shield match of the season at. Carisbrook next Saturday has been announced by the selectors, Messrs. S. H. Sullivan, A. C. Rippin, and E. J. Fairbrother, as follows:
j Backs: J. Goddard, J. Taylor, M. P 1 Goddard, R. Prattley, G. Harper, W j Pratt. A. R. Moore.
I Forwards: I. Paterson, G. O’Hara, J. Patrick, P. Fitzgerald. N. Hobbs, J. Bryce. L. A. Grant, P. McConnell. Reserves. —Backs: J. Coulter, J. Fraser. H. Fairbrother. Forwards: E. Harrington and B. Fitzgerald. I On Saturday last South Canterbury was considered lucky to hold a vigorous Ashburton team to a 9-all draw, I but was without M. P. Goddard, who : was resting an injury received in a previous club game.
