RATEPAYERS CONCERNED
Concern was expressed at Saturday’s meeting of the Kaiti Residents’ Progressive Association at an apparent change of attitude towards the reticulation of the outer areas of the borough for water and sewerage, speakers remarking that according to recent statements by members of the council the renewal of the pipeline fiom Waingake would be necessary before water could be supplied to any portion of the town not yet reticulated. One resident came to the meeting armed with reports of recent council discussions on the matter, and he expressed the opinion that the demands of the outer-area people were likely to be side-stepped once again,” Several speakers urged that a definite statement of the council’s intentions should be secured as soon as possible on this subject, and the matter was referred to the committee for action.
