Undesirable Sideshows
Unrest among the public regarding the value given by sideshowmen at agricultural and pastoral shows is referred to in the annual report of the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand. Two remits have been forwarded to the 1948 conference urging control of sideshows with a view to eliminating those below standard. The president, Mr. B. E. Keiller, states that he has arranged a meeting at the time of the conference between his executive and the noilhern district council to discuss the question and the issue of licenses.
