GROWTH OF ROTARY

In the last 10 years the number of Rotary Clubs throughout the world had increased by about 50 per cent, and today there were 6407 clubs, with 310,000 members, in about 80 countries, said the Rev. E. O. Blamires, in a luncheon address to the Rotary Club of Wellington. It was significant, he said that the Rotary movement had been crushed in many enemy countries before and during the war, and it had never been allowed to become established in Russia.

Quantitative progress was good, but qualitative progress was better, and to quicken the outward march of the movement members would do most by cultivating the art of friendliness, said Mr. Blamires. he four principles of the Rotary movement were friendliness, ethical standards, . service and international goodwill.
