WEBSTER BOOTH AND ANNE ZIEGLER AT OPERA HOUSE TONIGHT
British press critics are unanimous in summing up the ability of Webster Booth and Anne Ziegler with the remark “they sing and act superbly” and it is because they are able to present their songs with personality and charm that they have climbed to the top in every phase of their activities in the world of entertainment. They bring to the concert platform a wealth of experience gained from appearing in leading roles in romantic musical films, in opera, and on the musical comedy stage and because they are still young and at the zenith of their careers. Gisborne concert-goers can look forward to a presentation in the Opera House tonight that is both unique and refreshingly different. Furthermore, the songs they will sing throughout New Zealand are the very songs that have endeared them to every class of listener abroad and have made their names household ones throughout England, the Continent and the U.S.A. Favourite gems from musical comedies, thrilling arias from grand opera, and appealing ballads are all blended into each programme in a delightful way.
