TECHNICOLOUR CLOTHES FOR MEN NOW

NF.W YORK. May 22. Gilded and pastel-coloured suits for men is the latest idea of the tailoring and clothing manufacturing industries here. A Chicago tailor, Ralph Girard, bored with formal lapels, and not impressed by Hollywood’s abandonment of lapels altogether, has invented a new lapel with an impressive sweep from the midriff to the back of the neck. He says he is prepared to make dresses, togas, nickers, long waistcoats and stocks for men who request them. Girard contemptuously dismisses today’s crop of males as “fashion cowards who tremble at the thought of changing the styles they have been wearing for more than 50 years.”
