MODERN WAY OF FARMING

Regarded as one of the Western Australia’s most mechanised wheat farmers, Mr Eric Smart recently achieved the notable feat of seeding 2000 acres of wheat in one paddock in four days. He used tractors and combines, and his staff worked day and night. This was only part of an ambitious cropping programme of 17,000 acres of wheat on his various properties throughout the State, and 3000 acres of oats and barley. Last season his organisation produced 83,000 bags of wheat, and this year he hopes to increase that figure considerin' farming requirements he thinks in terms of thousands.
