GIRL SMILES AGAIN

LONDON. May 20,

A 17-year-oid Freemantle girl, Golda Murray, can smile again, after a rare operation performed at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital. She became ill in January with myasthenia gravis—fatigue of the muscles, believed to be associated with glandular abnormality. It affected her facial muscles, preventing her smiling. After advice to have an operation in London, a priority sea-passage was arranged. Golda went to London with her mother.

Mrs. Murray said: “Golda was able to smile this morning. Words cannot express my joy.” Golda said: “It will be wonderful to see my fiance, John Bishop, an excommando, again—and to smile at him.”
