(P.A.) WANGANUI. May 7. The Wanganui Jockey Club's centennial steeplechase meeting opened on Saturday in line weather. The track was easy alter ram. There was a large attendance.

The “tote' 1 handled £66,908, compared with £60,247 10s last year, an increase of £6660 10s. Primordial in the Hack and Hunters’ Steeples, paid just under a third ot a century, Kippo in the River Hack over a third ol a century and Mission in the Maiden Plate just under a score. Gay Tide for a place in the River Hack paid double figures.

During the running of the Century Hurdles,, Grand Central clipped the heels at another horse and teil on the Hat, his rider, P. Mullin, being taken to hospital with head injuries.
