SLAV BLOC GIVEN 54% OF UNRRA AID
(10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 3. President Truman’s quarterly report to Congress stated that Russia and her neighbours had received 54 per cent of Europe’s share of UNRRA relief supplies.
Europe to June 30, 1947, obtained supplies worth 2,023,000,000 dollars. Russia and her neighbours received goods worth the following amounts: Poland, 465,000,000 dollars; Yugoslavia, 397,000,000; Czechoslovakia, 255,000,000; Russia (Ukraine and Byelorussia), 60,000,000; Hungary, 4,000,000; Finland, 2,000,000.
The major Western European recipients were: Italy, 412,000,000; Greece, 341,000,000; and Austria, 133,000,000.
