MURDERER TRAPPED AS HE LEFT COURT
CAIRO. March 27.
A judge in Luxor, in Upper Egypt, recently trapped a murderer whom evidence had fajled to convict. A young girl who had been courted by three men was found beaten to death in a grove with a walkingstick beside her. The three. suitors were arrested and put on trial, but were acquitted for lack of evidence. As the acquitted men were leaving the court, the judge called out: “The owner of the walking-stick may now take it away.” One man made an instinctive move to pick up the stick. He was arrested, and since then, it is alleged, has confessed to the murder.
