CYCLE ROAD RACE
HILLS TEST RIDERS
TATAPOURI AND BACK
Covering the course of approximately 17 miles io Tatapouri and back in 45 min. 12 l-ssec., the virtual scratch rider, D. Chatfield, again registered fastest time when, during the week-end the Gisborne Cycling Club conducted its second road race of the season.
P. Kelly, with a handicap of 6 minutes was the first man home, closely followed by G. Hobcroft, a promising newcomer. The experienced all rounder, B. Thomson, was next.
The hill riding on both the outward and homeward laps tested the fitness and stamina possessed by the majority of the contestants. Results:
