MEETING URGED BRITISH INQUIRIES MR. ATTLEE'S ASSURANCE (11 a.m.) LONDON, April 28. Although there had been no formal approach to the Dominions, conversations were going on legarding the possibilities of a meeting of the Dominions’ Prime Ministers, Mr. C. R. Attlee told the House of Commons. He was replying to the Conservative, Lt.-Colonel A Marlowe who asked what steps hac. been taken to overcome the difficulties in the way of convening a conference ol Dominion Prime Ministers in London and whether he would consider sending personal representatives to each Prime Minister concerned to see whetner the difficulties could be smoothed out. Mr. Attlee said he was sympathetic to the idea of a conference, but he did not think it necessary to send personal representatives. The Government was in constant communication with the Dominions’ Prime Ministers on this matter and he could give nothing more definite at present.
