“HORROR” FILMS
NOT BEING MADE NOW (P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 27. “The film industry is no longer making ‘horror’ films, or at least is toning them down considerably,” said Mr. W. Cohen, representative of Warner Brothers on arrival by air from Sydney today replying to a question whether the Australian Government’s decision to ban “horror” films would affect the industry. Hollywood’s aim, Mr. Cohen said, was always to give the public what it wanted. The type of picture and its stars depended on what the “fans” were asking for. There was no longer any seriour demand for "horror” films and none was being made. The films which had caused criticism in Australia were all old numbers released for the second time.
