REBUFF TO DE GAULLE
PARTY MERGER REFUSED PARIS. April 27. The Foreign Minister, M. Bidault, the M.R.P. leader, politely rejected General De Gaulle's invitation to submerge the parties for “greatest possible union.” M. Bidault told the M.R.P. Congress: “There is no democracy without parties. The disappearance of parties means the disappearance of freedom.”
