U.N. EMERGENCY MOVE
SAFEGUARD JERUSALEM DIRECTIONS TO COUNCIL (9 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 27. The United Nations General Assembly, in a hurried plenary session today, ordered the Trusteeship Council to draft immediate emergency measures to protect. Jerusalem. The decision came after the United States had warned the Assembly that the destruction of Jerusalem by Jews and Arabs “would become the darkest blot on the history of the twentieth century.” The Trusteeship Council will begin work on emergency measures tomorrow.
