Injuries to Hand Injuries to one hand, necessitating his removal to the Cook Hospital, were suffered by Mr. George Delahunty, Otoko, on Monday. Mr. Delahunty was tieing up a restive horse when his hand was caught in the rope. His condition this morning was reported to be comfortable. Praise for N.Z. Amateurs Surprise was expressed in Gisborne recently by a visiting Australian at the strength and enthusiasm of New Zealand amateur theatrical societies and clubs in small towns throughout the country. He said that Australians relied principally upon visiting companies to provide flesh and blood entertainment, and was generally in admiration of the enormous amount of work put into amateur repertory work in this country. Modern Teaching’ Aids The operation of a sound system at the Mangapapa School for over, two years and the purchase more recently of a talkip film projector have served as valuable teaching aids, according-to the biennial report of the school committee to be presented to a meeting of householders in the school next Monday. The report states that, although the talkie projector has not been in use long, it has proved already that visual education is an excellent means of teaching.
