BACK IN WASHINGTON
SECRETARY OF STATE “IMPORTANT EVENTS" (10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 25. The Secretary of State, Mr. George Marshall, returned to Washington yesterday to deal with “important events” which, he said, had necessitated his leaving the inter-American conference at Bogota. Mr. Marshall said he expected the conference to wind up next week with an agreement on a number of important matters. He said there remained the problem of economic consideration, “but very good progress has been made in reaching a decision regarding the many issues involved.”
