MAORI RACE MEMORIAL
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 24. After being postponed nearly eight years because of the war, the unveiling of the 100 ft. granite obelisk on One Tree Hill took place at noon today. The obelisk was erected as a memorial to the Maori race under the will of Sir John Logan Campbell. A bronze statue of a Maori chief at the base ot the obelisk was removed during _the war and re-erected in 1946. King Koroki and Princess To Puea attended.
