East Cape Rain
Heavy showers in Ihe East Cape region yesterday caused the open water crossings north of Te Araroa on the Gisborne-Opotiki scenic highway, via the Cape, Kj become swollen. Trucks and large cars were able to negotiate the crossings, which blocked the progress of small cars, ihe weather was tine today and it was expected that the route would be open for ail classes of traffic by tomorrow afternoon. The resident patrol of the Automobile Association (Auckland), Mr. Stubbings, made a report to that effect today. __
