FILMLAND TESTS
MISS MARY WOOTTON LONDON. April 22. With Derek Bond as her leading man Miss Mary Wootton had a film test for the Rank organisation at Highcourt studios, London. Owing to the sudden illness of John McCallum, the Australian actor who was to have partnered her, Bond volunteered to substitute at the last minute. Miss Wootton acted a complete sequence from the drama, “Song of Tomorrow,’’ at present in production. She reported at 7 a.m. in the hairdressing and make-up rooms before appearing in front of the cameras. “I was nervous at first,” she said, “but everyone was so nice and friendly that I soon felt at case.” The first rushes of the test will be seen by the studio executives tomorow.
