STORE CATTLE EASE
SHEEP RATES FIRM MARKET AT RUATORIA Values were slightly easier in the cattle section, but sheep remained firm at the sale conducted by Williams and Kettle, Limited, and the Gisborne Sheepfarmers Frozen Meat and Mercantile Company in Ruatoria this week. Owing to the rain of last week, and over the week-end, the yarding did not come forward in the advertised numbers. The prices were: Sheep.—Wether lambs, 22s 9cl to 23s 2d; ewe lambs, to 21s 6d; mixed age ewes to 21s. Cattle.— Bullocks. £l2 to £l3 14s; 24year P.A. steers, £8 to £8 13s; 18months P.A. steers, to £G 19s; P.A. cows with calves at foot, £7 to £7 10s; 18-month P.A. heifers £5 5s to £5 12s 6d.
