CURB ON REDS

MAY DAY PARADE LABOUR CENSORSHIP • PLACARDS AND POSTERS SYDNEY, April 21. The May Day committee of the New South Wales Trades and Labour Council proposes to censor rigorously all slogans, placards and posters carried in the procession on May 2. While the moderates in Queensland are boycotting their procession and allowing the Communists to take complete charge of the demonstration the noderates in Sydney have assumed control and are excluding the Communists wherever possible. Communists who are members of anions will be allowed to take part, but the Communist Party and its auxiliaries will not be given representation. This is in accordance with the decision of the Trades and Labour Council that ao political body and no non-affiliated organisation will be allowed to participate. The Communists will either have to carry slogans supporting the Marshall Plan and “White Australia” policy or refrain from making any comment.
