WOMEN’S GOLF
DOMINION TOURNAMENT (P.A.) WAIPUKURAU, April 22. Two Wanganui players, Mesdames IC. Handley and Broderick, and one from Auckland, Mrs. P. Andrew have progressed to the fourth round of the Dominion golf tournament for women veterans being held at Waipukurau. The finals will be played today. Details of the championship include the following:—
Second Round. —-Mrs . G. Chapman (Napier), beat Mrs- McNicol (Waipukurau), 3 and 2: Mrs. K. Handley (Wanganui) beat Mrs. Amyes (Napier), 3 and 1: Mrs. Stewart (Porangahau) beat Mrs. Brydon (Bay of Islands), 1 up at the 19th; Mrs. P. Andrew (Auckland) beat Miss K. Kerr (Wellington), *8 and 6: Miss O. Smith (Napier) beat Mrs. Urquhart (Waroukurau), 4 and 3; Mrs. Broderick (Wanganui) beat Mrs. Sparkes (Gisborne), 3 and 2; Mrs. Mackie (Waipukurau) beat Mrs. Mannering (Napier), 2 up: Mrs. Winter (Gisborne) beat Mrs. V. Weir (New Plymouth), 3 and 1. Third Round.—Mrs. Handley beat Mrs. Chapman, 1 up: Mrs. Andrew beat Mrs. Stewart 5 and 3; Mrs. Broderick beat Miss Smith, 1 up at the 19th; Mrs. Mackie beat Mrs. Winter, 3 and 2.
