AUCKLAND PROVINCE (P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 21. Another suspected case of infantile paralysis was admitted to the Auckland Hospital yesterday. The patient was a young child. This brought the number of cases in the Central Auckland health district to 45 positives, including 39 who arc convalescent, and four suspects. Three positive cases were reported from the Thames-Tauranga district yesterday. They were a six-year-old girl from Katikati, a boy aged six from Tauranga, and a girl aged 17 from Te Puke. The Katikati School has been closed and restrictions imposed on the Katikati township. Two more positive cases have occurred in the Kaitaia district. They are Maori children—a boy aged 11 and a girl aged 12 —from Oturu Maori settlement, near Kaitaia. CASE IN WELLINGTON (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 21. A positive case of poliomyelitis was reported in Wellington yesterday following several weeks' freedom from any cases of the disease. The patient, who is a male, aged 25 was taken to hospital the previous evening from the city area. The diagnosis was confirmed late yesterday afternoon. This makes the ninth case of poliomyelitis in Wellington and Hutt Valley area since the outbreak of the disease in Auckland last year. Four cases have occurred in Masterton and one in Martinborough this year, these two towns being in the Wellington health district. This makes a total of 14 cases for the district. NORTHLAND EPIDEMIC (P.A.) WHANG ARE!, April 21. It is now learned that the death of a six-year-old boy in flic Kaitaia Hospital attributed to infantile paralysis was due to encephalitis. Three positive and three suspected cases of infant ilc paralysis arc now in the Kaitaia Hospital.'
